Enjoy Music, Margaritas and Sunsets on the Terrace at the Rockwell Museum of Western Art!
CORNING, NY - The Rockwell Museum of Western Art is excited to announce an evening of music, libation, and camaraderie overlooking the rooftops of Corning's Gaffer District. "Music, Margaritas & Sunsets on the Terrace" will take place on Wednesday, July 13 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The event is open to the public. It is free to members and $6.50 for not-yet-members.
For the audience's listening pleasure, the Tiger Muskies will create a musical ambiance while guests enjoy a cash bar, featuring margaritas and other drinks served. Also, enjoy chips and salsa.
In addition, attendees can explore the Museum and the current special exhibition, Fusing Traditions: Transformations in Glass by Native American Artists. This exhibition introduces the first generation of Native American studio glass artists. These eighteen artists fuse cultural heritage and individual creativity into dazzling new glass forms. This traveling exhibition features thirty-seven artworks and was organized by the Museum of Craft & Folk Art (MOCFA) in San Francisco, California. Fusing Traditions will be exhibited now through July 24.
"We want our local community to be aware of the treasures that exist within the Museum and view the Museum as a gathering place for learning and entertainment," stated Cindy Weakland, Public Programs Director.
The Rockwell Museum of Western Art owns one of the largest and finest collections of Western American art in the United States. All of the Rockwell Museum's exhibits and services - galleries, events, Artpacks, Trading Post, and the adjacent Cantina - reflect the people, places, and ideas of the West, immersing visitors in an authentic Western experience. There is always something new to see at the Rockwell Museum of Western Art. Galleries displaying the permanent collection are based on themes: Wilderness, Buffalo, Horse, Indian, Cowboy, and the Southwest. Here, myths are explored and new ways of thinking about art encouraged.
