KIDS & TEENS FREE (19 & under) AT ROCKWELL MUSEUM OF WESTERN ART
July 3, 2008
CORNING, NY - Kids & Teens FREE at the Rockwell (19 & under)! The Rockwell Museum of Western Art is offering free admission to young people 19 and under. The "Kids & Teens Free (19 & under)" promotion goes hand in hand with Kids & Teens Free at the Corning Museum of Glass.
"We're happy to make this special offer and encourage parents to bring their children to the Rockwell Museum of Western Art," says Museum Director Kristin Swain. "Especially since we partner with the Corning Museum of Glass in offering combination tickets to the two museums, we wanted to make the same opportunity available to our visitors. The Rockwell Museum offers a variety of activities to explore the people, places, and ideas of the American West. We provide young people with some unique educational experiences that are just a whole lot of fun."
Here are some fun drop-in activities available for families to do together:
ArtPacks - backpacks filled with interesting information, creative activities, puzzles and games - the ArtPack's are a young trailblazer's guide to the Museum. They approach the Museum's collection through four of the most enduring and appealing subjects of Western art: cowboys, Native Americans, wilderness and horse!
Art Hunt - Be a detective by inspecting painting and sculptures to find hidden symbols and pictures!
Kids West - Kids West play area ignites the imagination through make believe! Dress up in old-time costumes, learn about a Trading Post in a miniature Trading Post, play in the child-size tee-pee or read a story of yesteryear!
