Curator of Ethnology at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture/Laboratory of Anthropology in Santa Fe, New Mexico
A graduate of University of Colorado at Denver, Mr. Chavarria was the first Branigar Fellow at the School of American Research in Santa Fe.
He has served as a board member for the Council for Museum Anthropology, the Committee on Practicing, Applied and Public Interest Anthropology, both sections of the American Anthropological Association. In addition, Mr. Chavarria has acted as cultural/exhibit consultant to the Miami University of Ohio, the Pojoaque Pueblo Poeh Center, the National Park Service, the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, the Haak'u Museum at the Sky City Cultural Center, and the Southwest Association for Indian Arts.
He also served as a Community Liaison and Curator for the inaugural Pueblo exhibition at the National Museum of the American Indian. Tony's background is in consultation on exhibition development, repatriation issues, sensitive materials and programming.
He currently resides at Santa Clara Pueblo.
