Rockwell Museum of Western Art Achieves Subsequent Accreditation from the American Association of Museums

Corning, NY - The Rockwell Museum of Western Art has again achieved the highest recognition for a museum, accreditation by the American Association of Museums (AAM). Initially accredited in 1995, the Museum will undergo a subsequent review at least every ten years to maintain accredited status.

A Gallery Talk by Curator Sheila K. Hoffman

CORNING, NY- On Wednesday, February 15, 2006, the Rockwell Museum of Western Art's Curator of Collections Sheila K. Hoffman will offer a guide through the current special exhibition A Curator's Perspective: Symbols & Symbolism. Join the Curator for a visual presentation at 6:00 p.m. introducing symbolism, or iconology, her area of expertise. Following the presentation, Hoffman will guide visitors through the special exhibition gallery, as she explains her thought process in selecting pieces and interpretations of the symbols. Visitors will be invited into the Remington and Russell Lodge after the presentation for an informal Q&A where light refreshments will be served.

CORNING, NY -Over 10,000 visitors have filled the Rockwell Museum of Western Art's galleries in celebration since June - celebrating the genius of a man that has made a lasting impact. The Rockwell Museum of Western Art's summer blockbuster exhibition *Ansel Adams: Celebration of Genius, which opened June 8 and was scheduled to run through September 4, will now be extended through Labor Day weekend. The exhibition, which honors Adams, will captivate audiences now through September 8.
